We’re proud to reflect on an incredible year for Portland & Weymouth as Dorset’s joint Towns of Culture 2025. From April’s launch party to festive winter activities, 2025 was filled with creativity, community and unforgettable experiences.
Over the year, the REVEAL programme brought together artists, local groups and residents with dozens of performances, exhibitions, festivals and workshops celebrating heritage, music, art and storytelling across both towns. Funding enabled 24 unique community projects that connected people through film, poetry, dance and more to happen. Initiatives like the Cultural Passport helped young people explore local culture in fresh ways, collecting stamps and earning rewards as they embraced new experiences. Over 15,000 people came to Towns of Culture funded events, with over 3,000 participating in projects.
Thank you to everyone who joined, performed, volunteered and celebrated with us — here’s to the legacy of creativity and community spirit that will continue long after 2025! Take a look at the headline feedback report, some fabulous images and quotes from a year full of culture.
